I did an assessment, and there’s no way that I’ll be ready for the Virginia Beach Half Marathon next week. It’s a shame because I was really looking forward to it. But I need to be honest with myself about my fitness, especially in light of this summer’s cardiac problems. No use going out there unprepared and getting myself injured.
Anyway, I’ll continue to train and prepare. The Miami Half Marathon happens to fall on my younger brother’s birthday, so I’ll buy him the entry and a plane ticket to join me in running it in November. Heck, even if I’m not ready for that, I’ll be going. I mean, it’s Miami!
So, yeah, back to running…
